Welcome to the Manor

The Mihalović Manor in Feričanci, Croatia was originally built in the late 18th century. After a restoration and extension the Mihalović family  sold the manor house and throughout the 20th century building took on many different functions, now it has found a new purpose as the Heritage Hotel Mihalović Manor.

Authentic boutique hotel

Mihalović Manor is an intimate heritage hotel featuring five bedrooms and a master suite, designed to offer an exclusive and refined experience. Beyond the accommodations, the Manor includes a selection of elegant spaces such as event salons, a music room, a wellness area with a pool, and a dedicated wine cellar that exclusively serves Enosophia wines from the investor’s collection.

The historical authenticity that gives cultural and classical significance to the space and puts the „Heritage“ in its name was a clear focus of the architectural transformation.  Going as far as reclaiming and reintegrating the original furniture and artwork, which had been removed after World War II.

Balancing act

Throughout the entire design approach history and modernity have been carefully balanced, introducing new elements that complement the original architecture. One of these is the swimming pool hall which is subtly embedded into the terrain, allowing the main building to remain the dominant visual and spatial element. A significant transformation occurs in the previously unused attic space, where new pavilions emerge through the roofline, framing views of the historic park and highlighting the connection between old and new. The roof itself is a key architectural feature, housing the master suite with two bedrooms. Its historical wooden structure has been reinforced to support the cantilevered pavilions while preserving the integrity of the original materials. Meanwhile, the green roof of the pool building, visible from the manor’s main floor, strengthens the relationship between architecture and landscape, seamlessly blending with the surrounding park.

Traditional roofing for specific requirements

„As the final covering for the existing roof structure, the Tondach Biber tile was chosen for its optimal alignment with the desired visual and aesthetic impression from both, a conservation and architectural perspective. This type of tile is characteristic of traditional roofing and is frequently used in the restoration of buildings within protected historical ensembles, thanks to its authenticity and adaptability to the specific requirements of conservation standards. Its finely structured surface and subtle sheen allow for gentle tonal variations, contributing to a harmonious integration within the context of protected cultural heritage.
Soft variations in colour and texture create a delicate interplay of light that shifts throughout the day and across seasons, evoking the dynamic quality of a living material in dialogue with its surroundings. The Biber tile, with its repetitive modules and classic morphology, does not seek to dominate the space but rather to serve as a quiet companion to the architecture it complements.“, explain the architects.
